But why?

>> No.401

And why not?

>> No.402

Fairies aren't steampunk and those gears are in arrangement where they don't even mesh. I mean at least make the gears mesh if you're going to have gears at all! Even better are gears that actually do something.

I for one prefer fairies in my steampunk

>> No.413

Don't forget the huge amount of folk and fairy lore being collected at the turn of the century, and the renewed interest in Arthurian Romance. I think with the right setting, fairies can be steampunk.

>> No.414

Steampunk Collectors of Fary Tales? Sounds like a pretty nifty Vernian-Adventure premise actually.

Hi, I was wondering if anyone knew some place (online store if possible, I live in France) where I could find steampunk-like shoes.
Not too much the victorian style shoes but more in the spirit of those on the picture.
Thanks.

I move that this thread be purged. Though the original intent may have merits the thread has digressed terribly

Another imageboard catering to similar interests. Tends more toward the Victorian fashion side of things, but Steampunk is also encouraged. Check it out!

In return, R2-D2.

Steampunk costume jewelrys ( 2 studs and glamour Pendant ).

Question: Has anybody ever created functional steampunk jewelry? I'm not talking utility, I mean like, if it was a gear necklase, it would have a couple of interlocking gears that would rotate... something like that.

>> No.384

Oh that would be awesome.
The question is, should we make it working using batteries or systems like old watch.

>> No.385

I would go with the old spring loaded systems. Why use electricity, when stored energy can be achieved via a different source?

sup. I'm new here. Why is this board called "Steampunk" when it's blatantly obvious most of you are here only because you have victorian clothing fetish? And not the good, sexual kind, the bad let's-dress-in-ridiculous-impractical-clothes-because-it-makes-us-so-alternative kind.

Now I know that Steampunk is pretty much obligatory to take place during Victorian era, but that is only because its when industrial revolution took place, and that's what Steampunk is about - industrial revolution, technology, inventions, and either pollution/semi-slavery/suffering of lower classes(for low Steampunk) or adventure/flying castles/hero mavericks(for high Steampunk).

>> No.343

/r/ any artist out there to make a picture of an automata troll.

Seriously, did you scroll down on the page, or did you even bother to look?

>> No.344

I think there is only one or two threads here devoted to fashion. I'm thinking you didn't actually read anything here and just started posting. In fact, one of the fashion threads has a very good discussion on the Steampunk genre. I highly recommend you read it.
