Was this Mecanique Vivante's work? If so, they're the same group who created the Sireoles - motor-driven, musical sirens. Either way, this performance was immensely interesting.

I remember watching this, it was incredibly captivating. The story behind this was so interesting that it got me interested in such performance arts.

Agreed.
I can see that kind of procession moving down a hugely overcrowded street, with people haning from balconies that go several tens stories up, people waving flags, and generally enjying themselves. Airships overhead in a yellow evening sky, trailing bunting fro their hulls, and poorly recorded marching band music blaring from battered metal speakers atop lamp posts.

(apologies for the typos - it's been a damn good night :))

Yeah so. Crappy concept sketch ahoy. False screen name because I don't want people chasing me, just some tips.

Anybody here know how gears and such work?

If so, the image linked in this post needs a look over to see if it could make sense. The gyre replaces burning coal - it powers the boiler the same way, so don't mind about that. Fantasyfag aspect.

The file there <---is the same ship.

This 2nd pic jogs this memory I have of an article I read once. It was about a guy from ~about the turn of the century or the 1920s, cant recal exactly, who can be credited for envisioning the internet. I think he had even built some prototypes perhaps... Maybe that was just my imagination. But he was thinking like crossing the telescope with the telegraph and hooking it up to a library of pages. I'm sorry I didn't get the guys name. I think it was a book review, so maybe I'll run into it someday

That was actually visualized in "Souls In the Great Machine" book of the Greatwinter trilogy.

But I remember the real-life bit of it too from somewhere.

This disturbs me greatly.
Steamchan is dying. I propose a push - let people know about it any way you can.
this has the potential for greatness - the greatest repository of steampunkers around.
So. Spread the word, please.

Don;t let it die a much undeserved death!

>> No.590

We die not, we simply slumber, like the great cthulhu.

>> No.592

Just a LITTLE more action would be interesting though.
You know, not too much where you have to >>reply
but just enough to stimulate the imagination semi-regularly.

I see this place, judging on the quality, as the SteamPunk/CyberPunk headquarters; too much mention/action plays out any subject.

Personally I'd like to be updated about the Steam and Cyber world and people through this chan though.

Just some quick thoughts.

I would love to see steamchan flourish but it doesn't look like it's going to happen. Megachan is more active and they have steam and cyberpunk boards too. They are more watered down though. Anime and whatnot.

>> No.613

Waves I'm new. You're not dead yet.

>> No.1252

If you dont whant to die, gratness is nessesery. slumber can lead to death when one understands slumber is easyer. What you need to do is to threten people to death and such. type anon on utube and greatness will appear. Build a greate steam fortress where you can raise you punk babies to a punk army to follow you steam god! Children, follow my vision and victory will be by you feet in one week!
